Do not share sexual or suggestive Contributions involving minors, or engage in any predatory or inappropriate behaviour with minors

4D HYPE prohibits any sexual or suggestive Contributions, and predatory or inappropriate behaviour, involving minors. Minors refer to people under 18 years old or someone who appears to be a minor.

This includes sharing, offering, or asking for child sexual exploitation Contributions, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), this applies even if Contributions are of Self-generated indecent imagery (SGII) by a minor, shared with other minors, or reshared to criticize or denounce its existence. CSAM, refers to indecent images of children (including still and animated images, and videos, and including photographs, pseudo-photographs and non-photographic images such as drawings) and can be defined as a visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct involving a minor, including the display of a child’s nude body part in a sexual way. CSAM also includes other material which contains advice about grooming or abusing a child sexually or which is an obscene article encouraging the commission of child sexual exploitation offences and abuse offences. Furthermore, it includes Contributions which links or otherwise directs users to such material, or which advertises the distribution or showing of CSAM. Depending on the Contributions, sexualisation of minors can also include depictions of minors that are fully clothed and not engaged in explicit sexual acts.

We report CSAM to the appropriate authorities and have active partnerships and collaborations with others in the industry, as well as organizations such as the [INSERT ORGANISATIONS]. We also use industry-standard technologies to help us detect known illegal content that users attempt to share on the platform.

We generally prohibit fantasy or fictional Contributions (e.g. stories, deep fakes, photoshopped media, cartoons, manga images, drawings, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), CGI and AI- generated images (most of these fall into the pseudo-photographs media)) that depicts, encourages, or normalizes child sexual exploitation, sexual interest in children, or otherwise sexualizes minors. (NOTE: we also prohibit Contributions attempting, conspiring, encouraging, assisting, or aiding and abetting the commission and/or facilitation of all the prohibitions therein).

Here's a non-exhaustive list of examples of CSAM Contributions:

  • a cartoon depiction of a prepubescent child engaged in a sexual act
  • publication of indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child
  • sexualizing a non-sexual image or video of a minor
  • sexualizing a celebrity who is younger than 18 years old, or was younger than 18 years old in the Contribution depicted
  • the possession and distribution of SGII regardless of how it is defined i.e. Consensual, Non- consensual or Aggravated
  • an indecent or a prohibited image of child where generative AI, has been used to create it or
  • live streaming child sexual exploitation and abuse, generally in exchange for a payment or without.

We also prohibit Contributions where it does not in itself contain CSAM but contains:

  • Contributions encouraging or advocating to normalize paedophilia as a socially acceptable sexual orientation
  • Contributions that solicits or offers to distribute or show indecent images or pseudo-photographs, or intends to do so, so long as it can be reasonably inferred that the images being advertised are indecent and depict a child under the age of 18.
  • Hyperlinks (including shortened hyperlinks) to where CSAM material may be found, or otherwise directing users to material about how CSAM material may be found or created including services where it can be uploaded and shared.
  • Hyperlinks (including shortened hyperlinks) to an indecent or prohibited image of a child
  • Hyperlinks to a paedophile manual/obscene article e.g. material which contains advice about grooming or abusing a child sexually, or that which is an obscene article encouraging the commission of other child sexual exploitation and abuse offences.
  • Advertising indecent images or pseudo-photographs of a child for sale.
  • Instructions of how to use generative AI to create an indecent or a prohibited image of child and encouraging or assisting in the creation of such an image.
  • Exploiting extended reality technologies for the commission of CSAM offences.
  • Sharing legal content that is linked to CSAM through various tactics to indicate to other perpetrators that the sharing of CSAM is available, but without uploading it for public view. This is known as ‘contextual CSEA’. It includes the sharing of personal information of CSAM victims and survivors in order to locate material, and the sharing of contextual images taken from a sexual abuse ‘series’ to indicate possession of illegal material. This behaviour which is related to other online harms, is referred to as ‘breadcrumbing’; perpetrators signposting other perpetrators to CSAM.

If you are unsure about a sharing a Contribution involving a minor, do not share it.

Additionally, any form of predatory or inappropriate behaviour involving a minor is strictly prohibited. This may include a variety of interactions such as asking a minor to engage in sexual conversations and inciting, encouraging or assisting a minor to engage in sexual activity, asking a minor to produce or share nude or suggestive images of themselves (which qualifies as CSAM solicitation), attempting to meet with a minor in real life to engage in sexual activity or engage in sexual activity in the presence of a minor, engaging in sexual role-play where an adult might assume the role of a minor. We also prohibit using 4D HYPE to facilitate inappropriate interactions with minors on other platforms, websites or via electronic devices.

Here's a non-exhaustive list of prohibited predatory or inappropriate behaviours involving a minor:

  • Messaging nude or sexually-explicit images or videos to a minor.
  • Messaging (text or audio) a minor for the purposes of sexual gratification.
  • Messaging (text or audio) a minor where any part of the communication relates to sexual activity or where any part of it is what a reasonable person would consider to be sexual.
  • Messaging (text or audio) a minor which encourages them to communicate in a sexual way, e.g. threatening a minor if they don't share CSAM, engaging a minor in sexually explicit conversation.
  • Requesting/arranging or facilitating sexual activity with a child.
  • Arranges, facilitates, encourages, assists, attempts and conspires in relation to the offences of engagement in sexual activity with a minor, either for himself, herself or for another person, wherever in the world the activity is intended to take place.
  • Contacting a minor to build a relationship, develop trust, whether through flattery, common interests, intimate conversation, emotional connection, sexualisation, bribery, blackmail or coercing them, for the purposes of conducting child sexual abuse.
  • An exchange between an adult and a minor that may include a combination of flattery, offers of gifts, or requests for personal information or to meet privately online or in real life.
  • Controlling the activities of a minor in relation to sexual exploitation or paying for the sexual services of a minor, i.e. Contributions arranging the transport of a minor to a location to be sexually exploited (either through the provision of sexual services or the creation of an indecent image) and messages to a minor, persuading them to provide sexual services for some form of payment or to create an indecent image of themselves
  • Forcing others to abuse other children or to engage in sexual acts, including penetrative acts. Then inciting others to share imagery of the abuse as ‘first-generation’ CSAM
  • Contacting a minor to coerce, blackmail or direct them to produce self-generated indecent imagery (SGII)
  • Using self-generated indecent imagery (SGII) to blackmail a minor to produce more SGII and/or demand payment or vouchers
  • inciting a minor to abuse friends and siblings, objects or animals e.g. by threatening to publish SGII online or sending SGII images to a minors friends and family.

The medium of the communication is irrelevant when we make a judgement on our prohibited predatory or inappropriate behaviours; we consider written messages, audio, video and images to amount to sexual communication with a child. Some of our prohibitions go above and beyond legally-defined requirements. We also recognize that child sexual exploitation and related topics may be discussed in the context of news stories, societal concern, or preventative education, and we may allow this discourse to happen as long as it does not violate the spirit of the prohibitions listed above.
